Svadisthana Yantra

Within Svadisthana is the white, shining, watery region of the shape of a half moon, stainless and white as the autumnal moon. He who meditates upon this stainless Lotus is free immediately from all his enemies. (Kama - lust, Krodha - anger, Lobha - greed, Moha - Delusion, Matsaryya - envy). - Sat Cakra Nirupana

Description of the Yantra

Number of petals: Four, symbolising the four directions and four qualities of bliss.

Colour: Vermilion in the ancient texts, but more generally orange today.

Element: Water, the essence of life.

Crescent moon: Regeneration.

Makara: Mythical fish-tailed alligator. Its serpentine movement reflects the sensuous aspects of someone dominated by their second chakra. The alligator is also associated with sexual power, as its fat was once used as an aid to male virility.
