The Chakras are energy vortices of the energy body that comprise part of the energy system. When perfectly open and balanced, one is lead to the experience of a harmonious reality, connection to the Oneness in everything, and ultimately to union with the Divine Consciousness.

The Lotus

The Lotus is used as a symbol of the chakras because they look rather like flower blossoms within the auric field. The lotus flowers have been a potent emblem in India for thousands of years. The plant grows up from muddy waters to the surface of a lake and blossoms in the light, symbolising human growth: we are often submerged in the muddy waters of our subconscious and may obstinately push our roots deeper into the mud, but this will eventually make us stronger. Once we break free, we grow upwards, overcoming anything disturbing in our emotions (represented by water) and push the flower bud out of the water, thus nurturing our spiritual self in our journey towards the spiritual sun
